Minimum wage may be raised to 65 thousand drams
The Armenian government plans to raise the minimum wage to 65,000 drams. During the presentation of the government program today, the deputy of Prosperous Armenia (BHK) faction Vahan Babayan asked if the prime minister considers this sum to be sufficient. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan replied that the government has such possibilities at the moment.
“Mr Babayan, our possibilities do not allow a greater increase. If the minimum wage makes 80 or 165 thousand drams, society will applaud us, but we currently have no such opportunity,” Abrahamyan said.
