Seyran Ohanyan comments on Moscow-Yerevan flight emergency landing

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan has commented on yesterday’s emergency landing of a Moscow-Yerevan flight. He was also aboard the plane.

There was a small technical problem and the plane had to return to the Moscow airport about 30 minutes after the take-off, Ohanyan said during a briefing in the Armenian parliament today.

On May 25 an Aeroflot plane en route from Moscow to Yerevan was forced to make an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo International Airport of Moscow. The reason was smoke coming from the baggage compartment, according to Russian media. Among the plane passengers was also Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan who had attended the 3rd International Security Conference in Moscow. He arrived safely in Yerevan late Sunday.
