Forget-me-not chosen as symbol of events dedicated to Genocide centennial
Forget-me-not will be the symbol of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Chief of the Armenian Presidential Staff Vigen Sargsyan told reporters today.
“The name of this flower has the same meaning in all languages. The symbol was chosen from dozens of submitted works. Sharm Company is the symbol’s author. Forget-me-not symbolizes memory. This symbol will be used widely during the 2015 events. The five petals of the flower symbolize the five parts of world where the Armenians were scattered after the Genocide,” V. Sargsyan said.
According to him, “We Remember and Demand” has been selected as the events’ slogan.
The State Commission on Coordination of the Events Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide held its fourth sitting in Yerevan today. The sitting was chaired by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
Vigen Sargsyan said the sitting participants discussed essential approaches to be included in the text of the All-Armenian Declaration that will be published in early 2015.
“The Declaration reflects not only Armenia’s approaches, but also the major measures to be implemented in 2015 as well as goals,” V. Sargsyan noted.
