Hovik Abrahamyan attends sitting of CIS government heads

A regular sitting of the Council of Heads of Governments of CIS took place in Minsk today, the press service of the Armenian government reported.

At first a narrow-format meeting of the CIS government heads was held, during which on behalf of the sitting participants, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich congratulated Armenian counterpart Hovik Abrahamyan on his appointment as prime minister of Armenia and wished him successful activity.

An enlarged meeting then followed, with over two dozen issues related to the development of cooperation within the CIS framework being discussed. The participants signed agreements about cooperation on the interstate exchange of scientific and technical information, transport safety, topo-geodesic and navigational support of the armed forces of the CIS member states, as well as protocols on amendments to some agreements.

A decision was taken to hold the next sitting of the Council of Government Heads of the CIS in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, on November 21, 2014.

Following the sitting, Hovik Abrahamyan attended a working dinner given by Belarusian PM Mikhail Myasnikovich in honor of the participants of the Council’s sitting.
