Russian-Georgian road via Upper Lars checkpoint temporarily opens

The Georgian Military Road via Upper Lars checkpoint of Russian-Georgian border opened temporarily today from 12:00 noon Moscow time, ITAR TASS reported.

Cars that have accumulated in the border area can travel in both directions – to Georgia and Russia. About 150 vehicles accumulated in North Ossetian territory on the Russian side, North Ossetia’s Traffic Police.

The Russian-Georgian border crossing of the Georgian Military Road was closed following a landslide on May 17.
