Galust Sahakyan: Four factions should be involved in governing process
Most of the 12 demands presented by the four non-government political forces to the authorities are included in the Armenian government’s program as well, the parliamentary speaker Galust Sahakyan told journalists today.
According to him, those points, which the Armenian government is able to fulfill, will be met regardless of the opposition’s demands and the prospect of staging rallies.
If the opposition succeeds in formulating and submitting common issues, while the government succeeds in discussing them, a field for joint work will be created, the speaker noted.
“After all, the opposition should understand that it should become part of governing processes – just as civil initiatives have become,” Galust Sahakyan said.
In his opinion, the opposition should voice the problems and show consistency in their solution.
We would remind you that on June 10 the four non-government factions of the parliament – ARFD, Prosperous Armenia (BHK), Armenian National Congress (HAK), and Heritage – released a 12-point statement they adopted after a two-hour meeting on June 2. The statement is related to domestic political issues, several legislative amendments, government activities, and a rally scheduled for the autumn.
The foreign-policy point demands that the Armenian authorities “should not sign any documents endangering the Nagorno Karabakh Republic”.
