Serzh Sargsyan receives Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop Nurhan Manukyan, according to the presidential press service.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the close cooperation between the state and the Armenian Apostolic Church, the activities of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, and the role of the church in the life of the Armenian people.
Serzh Sargsyan underlined the importance of centuries-old work of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the Holy Land with the aim of preserving the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage and passing on that heritage to the future generations.
Taking into account the exceptional mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the life of the Armenians, the president stated that if necessary, Armenia is ready to assist the Patriarchate of Jerusalem with its important mission.
