Yerevan to continue assisting security mission in Afghanistan
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan on June 25 made a speech at the Brussels meeting of foreign ministers of the countries participating in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
He said the international community has made consistent efforts for establishing security and stability in Afghanistan, and now that this function has been transferred to the Afghan authorities, it is important to provide help for the efficient implementation of that mission.
E. Nalbandyan expressed hope that it will become possible to overcome the post-election difficulties in Afghanistan by using constructive methods acceptable to the parties and paving the way for ensuring the security and stability in the country.
The Armenian foreign minister reaffirmed Yerevan’s commitment to assist with international joint efforts aimed at promoting the security and interethnic solidarity in Afghanistan.
