Azerbaijani website spread lie about meeting of S. Sargsyan and J. Mujica
An Azerbaijani website having a dubious reputation – haqqin.az spread misinformation that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan allegedly did not meet Uruguayan President Jose Mujica.
While citing unnamed Uruguayan media outlets, haqqin.az claimed this information was also confirmed by the Armenian president’s press service, which is a flat out lie.
First, information about the meeting of the two presidents in Uruguay was posted on the official website of Armenian president and is available to Azerbaijani journalists as well. Secondly, photos and a video of the meeting were posted on Armenian media and primitive monitoring shows that the Azerbaijani site deliberately misleads its readers.
After the misinformation was revealed, haqqin.az released news about the presidents’ meeting, without posting photos which have been available in Russian-language versions of Armenian media since morning.
