Tigran Sargsyan presents credentials to Barack Obama

Armenian Ambassador to the U.S. Tigran Sargsyan presented his credentials to President Barack Obama, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Tigran Sargsyan stated that Armenian-American relations are a high level and there is great potential for their further development.

Barack Obama expressed hope the ambassador will use his wide experience and knowledge to promote the ties between the two friendly peoples.

The American president said the U.S. attaches importance to the relationship with Armenia based on mutual respect and interests, partnership in international peacekeeping missions, and cooperation on democratization and economic development.

Obama said Washington highly appreciates Armenia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution to the Karabakh conflict and strengthening of security in the South Caucasus.

The interlocutors stressed that the Armenian American community plays a significant role in the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
