Armenian president congratulates Jean-Claude Juncker

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to Jean-Claude Juncker on his election as president of the European Commission, the presidential press service reported.

S. Sargsyan expressed hope that during Mr. Juncker’s term of office, Armenia’s partnership with the European Commission will continue to develop and strengthen, opening new prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Cooperation with the European Union contributed to a large extent to the implementation of reforms in Armenia on good governance, democracy, the rule of law and in other spheres, and we highly appreciate it. I confirm Armenia’s commitment to develop relations with the European Union in the bilateral format and within the Eastern Partnership framework,” the message reads.
