Armenia condemns use of force against civilian planes

Armenia has always condemned and considered as inadmissible the use of force or threat of force against civilian aircraft,” Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan said, in connection with the crash of Malaysian Airlines passenger plane over Ukraine.

“We are shaken by that tragedy – the crash of a civilian aircraft that killed 298 passengers on board. We express our condolences to the families and friends of the innocent victims and to the states whose citizens died in the crash,” Balayan said.

As regards reports that the plane was brought down by a missile, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman said: “Only a comprehensive investigation can shed light on the cause of the crash”.
