Man who stabbed Gyumri resident to death surrenders to police

As was reported earlier, around 2:00 am on July 25 the Kumayri police station received information from a hospital that Edgar Avetikyan, 36, died after being admitted to hospital with stab wounds.

A criminal case was opened under Article 104 part I of the Criminal Code, Armenian police said.

At 4:30 pm on the same day 29-year-old Vaghinak S.(previously convicted) came into the Kumayri police station and said the during an argument outside house 46 on Khrimyan Hayrik street in Gyumri, he stabbed Edgar Avetikyan with a knife.

Vaghinak S. was detained. An investigation is underway.
