NKR Defense Army: Azerbaijan violated ceasefire 3000 times in past week

On August 3-9 Azerbaijan violated about 3,000 times the ceasefire on the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, Defense Army of the NKR said.

Azerbaijani frontline units fired over 60,000 shots from guns of various calibers at Armenian positions.

In addition to these ceasefire violations, over the past week Azerbaijani special mission units attempted reconnaissance sabotage raids into Armenian positions in the southern (Hadrut), eastern (Askeran) and southeastern (Martuni) directions of the Line of Contact. The frontline units of NKR Defense Army noticed in time the advance of Azerbaijani special mission troops and took preventive measures, repelling the enemy to initial positions. The enemy retreated, suffering losses.

The Azerbaijani air force carried out flights along the Line of Contact over the past week. The air defense of NKR Defense Army were following the flights of Azerbaijani aircraft, keeping the situation under control. In connection with the existing situation, attack aviation of the NKR armed forces carried out flights along the Line of Contact.

On the whole, the situation remained tense in the border zone. The frontline units of NKR Defense Army confidently performed their military duties and prevented any attempts by the Azerbaijani side to launch attacks.
