Meeting of leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia is possible: Kremlin

The Kremlin does not rule out that a trilateral meeting of Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia – Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan will be held in Sochi on Sunday, the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, according to Interfax.

In his words, all the sides express their concerns about the escalation of tension over Nagorno Karabakh, in particular the incidents that occurred in recent days and claimed many lives.

“The situation is unstable and troubled indeed. Negotiating efforts are underway to stop it,” Peskov said.

Vladimir Putin earlier met with Serzh Sargsyan in Sochi. During talks, the Armenian president spoke about the deliberate escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict by Azerbaijan. The subject of the Karabakh conflict settlement was also brought up at the meeting of Vladimir Putin with Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev who is also in Sochi.
