Pope Francis to visit Turkey and Armenia in late November

Pope Francis will travel to Turkey on November 30 to visit the Greek Orthodox patriarchate in Istanbul, Regnum new agency reported citing Daily Sabah.

The pontiff’s visit will start in Ankara where he is expected to meet with Turkish President Erdogan and members of the Turkish government.

Then Pope Francis will go to camps of Syrian refugees to call for the cessation of killings of Christians in Iraq and Syria.

According to the news agency’s diplomatic sources, Pope Francis also plans to visit Armenia after his trip to Turkey.
