Catholicos Aram I discusses situation of Middle East Christians with Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama met on September 11 with Christian religious leaders of the Middle East. Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia Aram I was among the participants of the meeting in the White House.

Catholicos Aram I offered his condolences in memory of the victims on the 13th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in Washington DC and New York, the press office of the Catholicosate reported.

He said the threat of terrorism remains in various corners of the world, particularly in the Middle East.

His Holiness spoke about the situation of Christians in the Middle East. Noting that they have played a significant role in the history of the Middle East, he underlined the inadmissibility of their rights’ infringement.
