President congratulates Catholicos on 15th anniversary of enthronement

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on the 15th anniversary of his enthronement.

“In 1999 the Armenian Apostolic Church had a new Catholicos in your person, and the faithful in Armenia and the Diaspora had a new chief priest. For 15 years you have been guiding your congregation with your wise and fruitful activity, campaigning for peace and humanity. Having deep respect for freedom of conscience of all people and societies, we highlight the special role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the formation and preservation of the identity of the Armenian people and their cultural development. Congratulating you again on the anniversary, I wish you good health and inexhaustible enthusiasm,” the presidential message reads.
