Hovhannes Manukyan: Changes took place in notary system

Significant changes have taken place in the notary system of Armenia in recent years, Armenian Justice Minister Hovhannes Manukyan said at a press conference today.

Speaking about corruption risks, the minister did not share the opinion that there are large-scale corruption risks in the notary system.

“Perhaps it was so at one time, but the situation has changed in the notary system,” the minister said, noting that a Notary Chamber was established in the country. Its functions include control of legality and ethical conduct of notaries.

The justice minister admitted that legal gaps still exist in this field.
