Armenian president hosts working dinner for EU countries’ ambassadors
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today hosted a working dinner for ambassadors of the European Union member states accredited to Armenia and the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Ambassador Traian Hristea, according to the presidential press service.
At the traditional meeting, the Armenian president and the ambassadors discussed foreign policy issues, the agenda and prospects of Armenia-EU cooperation development, Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, and regional problems and challenges.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked the EU for assistance with reforms carried out in various spheres, including financial aid and the readiness to continue assistance in the coming years.\
He expressed confidence that today an efficient policy can only be implemented through a dialog, mutual understanding, a combination of different integration systems, which is also evident from the current dynamics of international relations.
The president also spoke about the latest developments in negotiations on the Karabakh conflict settlement and the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs towards a peaceful resolution. He addressed Azerbaijan’s destructive policy and provocative actions, in particular the downing of Karabakh Air Force’s Mi-24 helicopter by Azerbaijan during a training flight on the front-line.
Serzh Sargsyan informed the meeting participants about reforms carried out in several fields, including constitutional reforms.
