Chinese tourists’ inflow to Armenia to increase

A draft decision will be discussed at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday whose implementation is expected to lead to a sharp increase in the inflow of Chinese tourists to Armenia, Haykakan Zhamanak reports.

Last year, the governments of Armenia and China signed a memorandum on group tours of Chinese tourists to Armenia. According to the Chinese legislation, for the implementation of such tours, Armenia needs to be included in a special list made by the Chinese authorities.

Armenia got such a status last year. The Armenian government will only have to solve several technical issues related to visas and Armenia will open to Chinese tourists, the newspaper says.
