Downtown Yerevan closed for traffic on October 11, 12
Chief of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan briefed at a cabinet sitting today on the traffic limitations on October 11 and 12 agreed with conduction of Francophone summit.
He said to ensure traffic security on October 10 from 10.00 p.m. parking will be banned in Republican and Shahumyan squares, Vazgen Sargsyan street, Abovian street, Abovian-Tumanyan crossroad, Nalbandyan street, in the sector from Sakharov Square to Republican Square, Tigran Mets Avenue, in the sector from Tigran Mets to Republcian Square, Amiryan Street, Amiryan-Mashtots-Republican Square sector.
He said on October 11 from 8.30 a.m. till 10.30 p.m. traffic from Atcharyan street to the center of the capital will be closed. Besides, the traffic will be closed in Myasniykyan Avenue-Heratsi-Koryun streets's sector, in Azatutyun Avenue from Azatutyun Avenue-Babayan street crossroad, Saralanj, Teryan, Koryun streets.
“Mashtots Avenue, Athens street, Tsitsernakaberd highway will be completely closed for traffic. On October 11 from 5 p.m. till the end of the event traffic will be closed in Vazgen Sargsyan street. From 8.30 a.m. traffic will be closed in Abovian-Tumanyan crossroad to Republican square sector, Amiryan-Mashtots crossroad to Republican square, Italy, Beirut and Zakyan streets, Khorenatsi street from Agatangeghos crossroad, Tigran Mets-Khanjyan crossroad to Republican Square, Republican street-Vardanants street crossroad to Tigran Mets Avenue sector, Nalbandyan street – from Sakharov Square to Republican Square sector, Aram street-Khanjyan street crossroad sector,” Osipyan briefed.
The Prime Minister clarified in short that on October 11 from 8.30 a.m. downtown Yerevan will be closed for traffic.
The head of the government urged the citizens to use metro if possible. He said corresponding instructions should be given to add the rolling stock during these days.
