Snap parliamentary elections should take place as soon as possible: political analyst
There is nothing extraordinary in the resignation of the Prime Minister ahead of parliamentary elections in December, political analyst Tevan Poghosyan said at a news conference today.
“It will not be a problem. Just two weeks the first deputy prime minister will be the acting PM," he said.
He stressed that Nikol Pashinyan is a high spirit political figure who claims that he is ready to enter equal political fight with other forces,” he said, stressing that all should be ready for political processes in the country with the strictest demands of the law.
The political analyst expressed conviction that the elections in the country will pass in free, fair atmosphere with the people being able to freely express their wish.
As to the adoption of the new Electoral Code, Poghosyan said that it is more important to conduct elections earlier even with the previous code. “I am for early conduction of the elections,” he said.
“We should create an atmosphere where people from business world deal with their business. People will not elect them. We should act in a way to show that it is even useless for them to think about appearing in the parliament,” Poghosyan stressed.
