Situation in Armenia slows down Karabakh conflict settlement process: Azerbaijani FM
The change of power in Armenia and the continuing political instability have slowed down the Karabakh conflict settlement process, Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in an interview to Russian RIA Novosti.
“Azerbaijan is ready to continue the substantive talks the goal of which is to start the stage by stage settlement process,” Mammadyarov said.
He said the conversation between the Azerbaijani president and Armenian PM in Dushanbe at the CIS summit was a good model of Azerbaijan’s readiness for content dialogue.
“Unfortunately, the change of power and the political instability in Yerevan somehow slow the process down. We hope the Armenian authorities will soon display a political will in the margins of existing format for continuing the peace process,” he said.
