Yerevan court denies bail for Vachagan Ghazaryan
The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction has denied the petition of the attorneys of Vachagan Ghazaryan to release their defendant on bail, attorney Armen Harutyunyan told Aysor.am.
He said that today at 4 p.m. the court will examine the petition of the investigative body on extending Ghazaryan’s arrest.
Earlier Aysor.am has reported that the Court of Cassation upheld the complaint of the deputy prosecutor general and changed the prevention measure from release on bail to arrest.
Vachagan Ghazaryan, security chief of Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan, is charged with illegal enrichment and money laundering. He was released on bail amounting to 1 billion AMD.
