Court of Appeal lifts arrest of former chief investigator of March 1 case Vahagn Harutyunyan

The Armenian Court of Appeal has decided to upheld the complaint of the former chief investigator of March 1 case Vahagn Harutyunyan at its session today and has lifted the arrest.

“We have not received the decision of the court yet, but I think that the Court of Appeal has referred to the total violation of defense right by the first instance court,” attorney Mihran Poghosyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.

Poghosyan said that Harutyunyan’s defense has met many violations in the Yerevan general jurisdiction court with judge Artush Gabrielyan having allowed a number of violation of rights. The attorney said he is going to apply to law enforcers to reveal the illegal activities of the judge.
