Guilty in low quality work to be brought to responsibility: Pashinyan on bad quality of road construction

Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred at the cabinet sitting today to the issue of roads.

“We will not tolerate bad quality roads. But what we see from the experience of the past year. We see that there are full pieces of roads which have won in the tenders we have announced and implemented low quality work,” the PM stated.

He said the implementers of low quality work are former high-ranking officials.

“They think that like previously now too they think they may build low quality road,” the PM said.

He said he particularly speaks about Noyemberyan-Voskepar sector.

“We did not accept the work due to it being of absolute low quality and now the ministry has obliged them to resume the works,” he said.

Pashinyan stressed that the people must be brought to responsibility as these people implemented low quality work on purpose.

“We have suffered serious financial losses, and the guilty must be hold responsible for it and appear in jail,” Pashinyan stressed, adding that for quite long time roads where number one sector where the money were eaten. “I guess they still have the appetite, but we must sharply close it,” Pashinyan stressed.
