Armenia must have national carrier: ex-official
Aviation authorities must exclude the work of the companies with doubtful material-technical opportunities, with exhausted resources and with just 1-2 planes, former deputy sports and youth affairs minister Arsen Karamyan wrote on Facebook.
“Armenia should have national carrier and all the claims that there are much more rich and big countries which do not have state carriers thus Armenia may not have it too are demagogy,” the ex-official said, adding that Armenia has traditions in the sector and necessary human resources to start the process.
Karamyan stressed that the growing number of forced landings registered during the recent months one day may not have a happy end but result in painful losses.
The former deputy minister referred to the issue after Boeing 737-500 EK 73736 plane implementing Yerevan-Moscow NGT930 flight made forced landing in Rostov-on-Don on November 26.
The information was reported by Civil Aviation Committee which though did not unveil the causes of the forced landing.
