Armenian world weightlifting champion Simon Martirosyan charged

Armenian world weightlifting champion, vice champion of Olympic games Simon Martirosyan has been charged under Part 2 of Article 242 of Armenia’s Criminal Code – violation of rules of exploitation of transport means and traffic which negligently caused human death.

Signature bond on not leaving the country has been applied as pre-trial measure against Simonyan.

To note, Simon Martirosyan has hit a person passing the street in not allowed part near Yerevan Mall trade center.

The champion has not fled the scene but called police and ambulance.
