Armenia’s ombudsman slams silence of international human rights structures during war, says it resulted in big volume of violations of human rights
Silence of international structures during the war resulted in the big volume of the violations of the human rights, Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan stated at the NA today.
“I openly tell the international structures – it was your silence that resulted in it, with your silence you harmed the system of human rights,” Tatoyan said.
He stressed that Armenian citizens clearly understood that the war halted not because it was stopped by the international organization of human rights but was settled in concrete political ways.
“The Human Rights structures stepped back and left all to the political [bodies],” Tatoyan stressed.
“Why doesn’t any human rights organization visit Artsakh? I tell them with your behavior you harned the human rights system this is why you are obliged to provide full support for protection of rights of our citizens so that it does not appear that the human rights and democracy in our country contradict the security,” the Ombudsman stressed.
