Voter turnout at Armenia's parliamentary polls reaches 49,4% as of 8pm

The voter turnout at Sunday's parliamentary elections in Armenia was 49,4% as of 8pm local time, chairman of the Central Election Commission Tigran Mukuchyan said.

Out of 2, 593,572 eligible voters 1,281,174 participated in the voting.

Twenty-five parties and blocs are contesting seats in the national legislature.

The total number of eligible voters is 2,593,572.

A total of 2,008 polling stations across the country opened at 08:00 a.m. local and closed at 8pm local time.
