“All of this is very difficult”: Vitaly Balasanyan condemns the conduct of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese
Former Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, has condemned the conduct of Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, who joined Nikol Pashinyan in the campaign against the Church.
Aysor.am asked Balasanyan whether he joins the appeal by Artsakh residents to the Catholicos of All Armenians, demanding that Bishop Abrahamyan no longer serve as Primate of the Artsakh Diocese.
“The announcement was made, and everyone joined it,” Balasanyan said in an interview with Aysor.am. When asked whether he personally had joined the appeal, he replied: “That announcement was made on behalf of everyone.”
Balasanyan emphasized that it is unacceptable for the head of the Artsakh Diocese to side with Nikol Pashinyan in actions directed against the Church.
Asked whether he had attempted to speak with Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Balasanyan said he had been unable to reach him.
“All of this is very difficult. I assess it very negatively – it is unacceptable,” Vitaly Balasanyan concluded.
