Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan: Narek and Vazgen’s arrest and attack on Mihran politically motivated

Political analyst Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan highlighted two cases that have sparked significant public attention:

“a) Narek Samsonyan, founder of the AntiFake website and public figure, and Vazgen Saghatelyan, co-author of the Imnemnimi podcast, have been detained for over a month on a fabricated criminal case. They were charged with hooliganism – Samsonyan, in particular, for simply using the word ‘butt’ on air.

b) In stark contrast, the same hooliganism article has been applied to individuals who, under orders from Nikol, formed a criminal group, used fake license plates, wore masks, and physically attacked public and political figure Mihran Hakobyan in broad daylight. These slaves of Nikol, as you know, remain free.

On one hand, the mere use of a word “butt” results in two months of imprisonment; on the other, the formation of a criminal group and a public attack leads to freedom.

You might call this illogical, unfair, or immoral. But in reality, the terms ‘logic,’ ‘justice,’ and ‘morality’ in these cases have one name: political decision.

Narek and Vazgen were arrested by a political decision. Mihran was attacked by a political decision. And, by the same decision, Nikol’s criminal henchmen were released. Nikol’s political decision is clear: to persecute all opponents – arrest some, harass others, and unleash trained dogs against others,” Melik-Shahnazaryan wrote.
