“The Armenian Patriarch is committed to fulfilling the divine mission bestowed upon him throughout his life,” Father Asoghik Karapetyan said during a briefing with reporters at the Mother See, noting that His Holiness remains steadfast and full of energy.

Father Asoghik also commented on yesterday’s gathering in the courtyard of the Mother Cathedral, where ten high-ranking clergymen who had met with Nikol Pashinyan demanded the resignation of the Catholicos of All Armenians. He noted that His Holiness the Patriarch had called on the deviant clergy to return to the canonical field.

“The Patriarch addressed those violators with his characteristic dignity, calling them ‘Holy Fathers.’ If they had any problems, complaints, or concerns, they were well aware of the Church’s conciliar structures and mechanisms through which such issues could be raised. They could have presented them there at any time over the past 26 years,” Father Asoghik said.

He added that he did not wish to comment on individual actions or personalities, but emphasized the stance of the faithful. “I will only note the attitude and posture of our believing people, which clearly showed who is who and for what purpose each person came to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin,” the clergyman said.
