Nikol has turned frivolity into the dominant message in the country’s political arena – Ashotyan

RPA Vice Chairman Armen Ashotyan wrote: “Nikol has managed to make frivolity the dominant and fashionable message in the country’s political arena.

It must be acknowledged that he does have something to say; however, his real message is so despicable and repellent that he is compelled to disguise it with cheap puns and visual gimmicks.

He is attempting to ‘sell hope’ to the Armenian people, but in reality he is selling an illusion – empty air.

Unfortunately, figures have also emerged within the opposition camp who, in trying to compete with Nikol on his own terrain, have begun selling air under the label of ‘hope.’

The objective difficulty of adequately addressing truly enormous challenges does not, however, justify a style of governance based on ‘politics as a continuous show,’ even when pursued by actors who assign themselves a ‘serious’ opposition mission.

The Republican Party may be considered overly conservative, but, in my firm conviction, political discourse must first be about action.

Figuratively speaking, no special effects can conceal the weaknesses of a script, and no arrangement can mask a talentless performance.

I have said many times that I do not need your likes or your votes.

I need your faith and your hearts.

We do not sell hope, we awaken hope.”
