Court of Appeal rejects appeal against detention of Archbishop Arshak; he will remain in custody – Babayan

Attorney Arsen Babayan wrote:

“The Criminal Court of Appeal (presided over by Vache Margaryan) rejected my appeal against the detention of Archbishop Arshak and left the Archbishop in custody.

Of course, this decision was not unexpected. It is noteworthy that it was not unexpected even given that, upon reviewing the prosecutor’s decision to initiate criminal prosecution, it becomes evident that no crime was committed. Moreover, even if the acts described in that decision had occurred in objective reality (which is excluded, as they did not happen), it is precisely in those circumstances that it is clear no criminal act was committed.”
