Public Television consistently ignores statements regarding Archbishop Arshak: Lawyer

“The Public Television Company consistently fails to cover anything this side has to say regarding Archbishop Arshak. This includes everything from the Archbishop’s press conferences to my numerous official statements as his defense attorney. For example, it did not address my point that the expertise cited by various government officials does not comply with accepted standards, and the expert was never asked the key question. In my view, this confirms that the widely circulated video attributed to the Archbishop is entirely fabricated, and the Investigative Committee is fully aware of this.

Moreover, Petros Ghazaryan has invited Archbishop Gevorg for a third or fourth interview, during which he repeatedly insults and, in some cases, deliberately lies about Archbishop Arshak.

Considering all this, and the fact that Public Television should serve the public rather than the government, I propose that Petros Ghazaryan also invite me for an interview, as the most legitimate representative of the other side.

To date, Public Television has provided the public with exclusively pro-government information regarding the criminal proceedings against Archbishop Arshak – information that has often been either a lie or a result of ignorance. I believe the public has the right to receive complete and balanced information about this case, and it is the responsibility of Public Television to ensure this opportunity.”
