Russian liquefied gas to reach Armenia via Azerbaijan – Ministry of Economy

Armenia is exploring the possibility of transporting liquefied natural gas from Russia to Armenia by rail through Azerbaijan, Lilit Shaboyan, press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, told TASS.

She noted that Armenia imports liquefied gas from both Russia and Iran, but the country is currently facing challenges with these supplies.

“Certain issues have arisen with imports from Iran due to known circumstances. On the Russian side, the problem is related to Upper Lars. These issues will be resolved shortly, as liquefied gas will soon be delivered to Armenia by rail. Russian liquefied gas will reach Armenia via Azerbaijan in the near future,” Shaboyan said, without specifying exact delivery dates.
