Pashinyan: This year’s Zayed Award has three laureates – me, Azerbaijan’s President, and an Afghan women’s education activist

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has called it a great honor to receive the Zayed Award. Speaking during the National Assembly’s government Q&A session, he said that upon being informed of the decision, he gratefully accepted the invitation and is preparing to attend the award ceremony.

Pashinyan noted that three individuals have been selected as laureates this year. “One is me, the second is the President of Azerbaijan, and the third is an activist working in the field of women’s education in Afghanistan,” he said.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the citizens of Armenia. “Above all, I am grateful to our people – the citizens of the Republic of Armenia – because without their support, trust, and endorsement, this would not have been possible,” he stated.

The Zayed Award – officially the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity – is an international prize established in 2019 in the United Arab Emirates at the initiative of leaders of the Catholic and Islamic worlds. It is named after the founding leader of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
