Nothing terrible, just another expensive month for liquefied gas: Gegham Gevorgyan (Video)

There is nothing alarming about the increase in liquefied gas prices, as January is traditionally one of the more expensive months for this product. This was stated by Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee, following a Government session, in response to a question from Aysor.am.

According to him, 187 economic entities import liquefied gas into the Republic of Armenia, making anti-competitive agreements or abuse of a dominant market position impossible.

“The price increase is the result of the current supply-demand balance. The number of filling stations is large, while supply is temporarily limited. Soon, supply volumes will increase and prices will drop. There is nothing terrible,” Gevorgyan said.

He also referred to a statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia at a previous meeting, noting that once transport infrastructure issues are addressed, Armenia will no longer depend solely on land transportation for liquefied gas imports.
