Investigative Committee initiates public criminal prosecution against a Yerevan Municipality official

According to Hetq, a public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Vazgen Harutyunyan, Head of the Transport Department of the Yerevan Municipality. A preventive measure has been applied against him, and his tenure has been suspended.

Aysor.am contacted the press service of the Investigative Committee for clarification.

The Investigative Committee neither confirmed nor denied the identity of the individual involved, noting that such information may be considered personal data. However, it provided the following statement:

“During the preliminary investigation of criminal proceedings initiated on charges of failure to execute a judicial act or obstruction of its execution, public criminal prosecution was initiated against one individual. As a preventive measure, a ban on absence and suspension from office were applied.”

The Investigative Committee noted that no additional details are being provided at this stage.
