Some chaplains barred from entering military units, including to retrieve personal belongings – Father Trdat

Some chaplains have been restricted from entering military units, including for the purpose of retrieving their personal belongings, Father Trdat Gevorgyan said.

According to him, in recent days claims have circulated in the public sphere suggesting that chaplains voluntarily left military service and chose not to continue it.

“However, there are factual circumstances indicating that some chaplains were restricted from entering military units, even to collect personal belongings, which casts doubt on the credibility of these claims,” Father Trdat stated.

He also cited a passage from the Bible to underscore his point:

“‘A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will not go unpunished’ (Proverbs 19:5).”
