There can be no dual subordination in the army – Papikyan on the elimination of the Armed Forces’ Spiritual Service

Speculation that spiritual service in the army is being discontinued does not reflect reality. The spiritual service may continue to operate, however its representatives must be subordinated to the Moral and Psychological Support Directorate of the Armed Forces.

This was stated by Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, commenting on his decision to dissolve the existing Spiritual Service of the Armed Forces.

“There can be no dual subordination in the army, in the Armed Forces,” Papikyan emphasized.
