We are ready to cooperate with opposition forces if the removal of this government depends on it – Saghatelyan

Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the Armenia faction, expressed hope that U.S. Vice President JD Vance would raise the issue of the return of prisoners held in Azerbaijan.

Asked whether the second President of Armenia had clarified if the “Armenia” bloc will be preserved for the upcoming elections or run in a new format, Saghatelyan explained:

“Robert Kocharyan is not the leader of the ARF. Neither he said that, nor did we. Two units are signing an agreement in the form of a bloc around a common goal. We have stated that, valuing the activities of the Armenia faction, we aim to preserve it, and negotiations and discussions are ongoing in that direction. We will announce the outcome in due course.”

Saghatelyan expressed confidence that the faction could surpass the electoral threshold if it participated independently:

“We are not among the forces that could fail to cross the threshold. Our challenge is not entering parliament, but creating large opposition blocs that consolidate their forces to achieve better results and get rid of this evil government. We have demonstrated this approach, and we believe other political forces should also pursue the path of forming large blocs.”

He added that while there are capable opposition forces with their own platforms, many struggle to meet the threshold:

“What is the point of scattering votes? If the removal of this government depends on our cooperation, we are ready to work with other opposition forces.”
