“We live in an absurd period when priests are under arrest. They are ‘prisoners of conscience’” – Vanetsyan

Homeland Party leader Artur Vanetsyan, in an interview with Hraparak daily, also addressed the arrest of Archbishop Arshak, describing him as another political prisoner.

“You know, we are living in an absurd period when priests are being arrested. We don’t even know what term to use – whether to call them political prisoners or something else. A very accurate definition has already been given: ‘prisoners of conscience.’ Perhaps that is the appropriate term, because they are not engaged in political activity,” he said.
