Emergency on Nigavan-Spitak road: over 100 cars stranded

On February 27, an emergency situation has developed in the Aragatsotn region.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a roughly 15-kilometer stretch of the road from the village of Nigavan to Melik is completely covered with snow and ice. The road maintenance company has reportedly not treated the area with salt or sand.

As a result, a large number of vehicles are unable to move, with several stuck in snowdrifts. Rescuers from the Aragats Fire and Rescue Squad are currently working to free the cars and restore traffic on the road.
