His Holiness Karekin IIs concerned about the current situation, remains in contact with regional diocesan leaders

Amid the developments surrounding the Islamic Republic of Iran and the broader Middle East, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, is maintaining contact with the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and regional diocesan leaders.

“His Holiness the Patriarch is concerned and anxious about the current situation and is in constant communication with the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the regional diocesan leaders,” Father Yesayi Artenyan, Director of the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, told Aysor.am.

Israel and the United States began striking Iran on February 28, and Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and American military bases in the Middle East.

Hundreds of people have been killed and wounded in Iran as a result of the US-Israeli strikes, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and dozens of other state and military officials.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society announced today that at least 555 people have been killed in the country so far as a result of US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
