We welcome the signing of a historic agreement between the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which creates a positive foundation for ensuring stability and peace in the region, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a briefing following the 15th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Armenia.

“In this context, I would like to once again emphasize that we are ready to continue contributing to peace building and stability in the region. Georgia will spare no effort in this regard,” Kobakhidze stated.

The Georgian Prime Minister underlined the importance of further deepening bilateral cooperation.

“We see that the situation around us is complicated, and particularly against this backdrop, it is essential to strengthen our cooperation. Our countries and peoples are bound by long-standing historical ties of friendship, which form the basis of the strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia,” he said.

Kobakhidze also thanked Armenia for supporting and respecting Georgia’s national interests. “I would especially like to express my gratitude for the support of our territorial integrity and sovereignty,” he added.
