115 passengers evacuated from Oman to Yerevan - RA MFA

On March 3, a charter flight evacuated 115 passengers from Muscat to Yerevan, most of them Armenian citizens.

RA MFA press secretary Ani Badalyan told Aysor.am that more than 90 of the passengers were citizens of Armenia, including two who had arrived in Oman from the Far East.

“The staff of the Armenian Embassy in Oman were present at the airport, and the citizens were provided with the necessary assistance,” Ani Badalyan said.

The first evacuation flight from Oman landed in Yerevan a day earlier. An aircraft operated by Fly One Armenia transported Armenian citizens from Muscat, where they had earlier arrived from various cities in the United Arab Emirates.

Armenian citizens who had traveled to UAE cities for tourism have been unable to return since February 28 due to escalating tensions in the region, including Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran and Iran’s subsequent retaliatory actions. As a result, the airspace of several Middle Eastern countries has been closed.

On March 3, the Armenian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates also announced a Muscat-Yerevan flight scheduled for March 4 at 9:00 PM, as well as a free transfer option for Armenian citizens from the UAE to Oman.
