Public criminal prosecution initiated against 17 people following Ajapnyak incident

As part of the criminal proceedings related to the incident in Ajapnyak on February 18, 2026, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia has initiated public criminal prosecution against 17 individuals, Aysor.am reports.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, detention has been applied as a preventive measure for two people, one of whom is declared wanted. 

“House arrest has been imposed on seven individuals, while five are under a combined preventive measure including prohibition of absence. The preventive measures for three other individuals are still under consideration,” the Office said.

The February 18 incident in the Ajapnyak community involved gunfire, resulting in seven people being hospitalized and one fatality.
